Horizon, Athens, 2014
by Georgia Sagri
A performance on the theme of polis, commissioned by South as a State of Mind
“I don’t want to mind the gap; I don’t want to be told what to do through loudspeakers. I am not asking for protection. I have noth- ing and I want nothing. This is not for me, it is not for you; it is becoming. I am not asking for your acceptance. I don’t want you to notice me. I am not looking at you but beyond you. The issue, the political, economic, social issue, does not worry me; what worries me is that we will not meet and that worries me a lot. I don’t want to mind the gap; I don’t want to be told what to do through loudspeakers. I am going on because I’ve found a horizon.”
